Who can benefit from this program?
Fathers throughout Polk, Highlands and Hardee Counties, including those incarcerated in the Polk County Jail.
Fatherhood Assessment
Our Fatherhood Support Specialist will conduct an assessment with the father to identify barriers—such as unemployment, housing instability, food insecurity, or health challenges—that may hinder achieving permanency for their children. This process helps determine the most beneficial resources and initiates services within 30 days, reducing delays and enabling fathers to engage in supports that promote permanency outcomes more quickly.

Incarcerated Fathers Program
Fatherhood services are available to incarcerated fathers at the Polk County Jail. The program runs for several weeks, offering two sessions per month. Sessions are open to fathers, stepfathers, and prospective fathers. Each session includes videos, supportive materials, and guided group discussions. There are no prerequisites—participants may join a session at any time.
