
Resource Specialist-Client Trust

Job Summary:
This is a professional position responsible for ensuring appropriate ancillary services and funds are being provided to meet the needs of all children in care.
Essential Functions:

Establish and maintain positive working relationships with HFC internal and external customers

Assist with qualifying children in care financial support through the social security administration

Assist with requests for changes in payee of social security benefits for children who have been adopted or aged out of care

Facilitate services for children in care of receiving a duplicate social security card

Update all systems and monthly track all transactions for children receiving monetary benefits outside of Department of Children & Families funding

Evaluate the rationale for payment request and fee waiver approvals ensuring that they meet the needs of the child, their case plan tasks and safety considerations

Calculate payments made from client trust accounts for repayment of cost of care, allowances and general requests made on behalf of the child

Coordinate with internal managers to complete annual credit checks for transition aged youth

Facilitate quarterly meetings and/or trainings with the case management organizations and independent living

Assist the finance team with reconciliation of client trust account bank statements and other reporting for monthly/yearly audits

Make requests for documents to include court orders, immunization records and birth certificates

Perform special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Services or related field required. Requires proficiency using MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience in child welfare eligibility determination, and knowledge FSFN/CWISS preferred.
