Heartland for Children’s 10th annual Rudolph Roundup holiday toy drive will be here before you know it!
For going on ten years, Heartland for Children has helped to provide holiday gifts for thousands of children and teens throughout Polk, Highlands and Hardee Counties in Central Florida. 1,360 children and teens received presents last year alone through generous donations from individuals, groups, and businesses.
Thinking back on our own childhood holiday memories, most of us can recall the joy of receiving that one special gift at the holidays. Even now as you read this you may be thinking of that special gift—the one that you wished and wished for and squealed with delight upon opening. For our kids, it is that exact same anticipation, joy and excitement when someone has helped to make their holiday gift wishes a reality.
Last year, young Gabbie expressed her thanks “for all the toys and clothes” she was given. Her most touching words were “I love my baby doll and shopping cart the bestest!” Christopher said, “I love my bus, I ride it all the time and even let my sister ride it too!” It is a heartwarming honor to have the privilege to be part of making a child’s wishes come true.
We invite you to join us in our 10th Annual Rudolph Round-Up Toy Drive as we set out to make more wonderful holiday memories for children. Whether you are a new donor or one who has supported children through this project previously, your assistance is needed and valued.
Our goal for the 10th Annual Rudolph Round-Up Holiday Toy Drive this year is to again ensure children living here in our local community who have experienced abuse and/or neglect here will have holiday gifts and joyful celebrations. With your help, we can reach our goal of sponsoring at least 1500 children this holiday season.
Please consider being a 2014 Rudolph Champion by:
- sponsoring an individual child by purchasing gifts on his or her wish list
- making a monetary contribution
- sponsoring a toy drive - individually, through your business or organization, or faith community
- fundraising through creative activities with your group
- donating a toy for a child in lieu of an office gift exchange
We look forward to partnering with you this holiday season. To make a commitment to be a 2014 Rudolph Champion, complete and return a commitment form letting us know how you would like to support making children’s holiday wishes come true. You may also consider spreading the news and recruiting family, friends and businesses to participate in the 10th Annual Rudolph Round-Up Toy Drive.
