Evans Family

"What inspires me to be a Foster Caregiver is that there are children, close to home that need a loving home to feel safe. I’m a teacher and I see the need everyday in my classroom. My husband and I want to make a difference in this world and no better way than to show them they are loved and cared for even when they feel like they have no one they will always have us and our families.

It is very challenging and I know it's unknown waters, but it is well worth it. Seeing a child develop and come out of their shells after traumatic incidents is the most reassuring and positive thing you can see. Children are the light of this world and we want to help them let their light shine again.

A favorite family memory, I would say it would be having Christmas with our sibling group of 3 and our son. They were placed with us 4 days before Christmas. I have only been doing it for a short time, but my favorite memory is when my foster daughter who is 8, went to a camp for the weekend and before she went they had press on tattoos. I have an elephant tattoo on my forearm and she picked an elephant stick on tattoo and said 'mama elephant and baby elephant'."
