Program Manager - Prodigy

  • Job Summary:

    This is a professional position which will implement, manage and supervise the day to day operations of all the Prodigy program locations.  This position will ensure that youth are provided with a safe, secure and supervised environment where the arts are infused with critical life skills in a culturally diverse setting.

  • Essential Functions:

    • Establishes and maintains positive working relationship with HFC internal and external customers including parents
    • Oversee and fulfill all contract obligations, duties and responsibilities as stated in the Department of Juvenile Justice/ University Area CDC contract agreement
    • Model appropriate involvement and interaction with youth by ensuring staff uses recommended discipline measures and assist in solving discipline issues
    • Facilitate, coordinate or supervise on site trainings
    • Supervise maintenance of all records to include youth files, personnel files, inventory and expenditures as well as any records needed for program administration
    • Review and approve all lesson plans before submission
    • Plan and coordinate schedules
    • Order and maintain office and art supplies necessary for daily operations
    • Oversee all database entries and check for accuracy
    • Assume responsibility for order and discipline in programming locations
    • Review, revise and sign all parent communications
    • Supervise parent communications as to daily schedule, schedule changes, special events, phone numbers and pertinent information
    • Attend conferences with parents and/or guardians as necessary and appropriate
    • Maintain regular communication with Prodigy Case Managers to ensure timely referrals and enrollment of diversion youth
    • Analyze and apply information from periodic program evaluations
    • Facilitates partnerships with appropriate public and private agencies that provide services to the youth and families
    • Make presentations to the community as needed
    • Secure donations and funding for the program and prepare additional proposals for supplemental funding
    • Attend monthly managers meeting
    • Assist in and be available in person or by phone of promotion of special events
    • Perform special projects as assigned

  • Qualifications Required:

    Bachelors’ degree in one of the following areas; the arts, education, youth development, or behavioral science and Three years’ experience in education or equivalent in education and experience working with the youth required.

  • Qualifications Preferred:

    Administration/management and contract experience preferred.
