  • Job Summary:

    This is an executive management position responsible for overseeing and coordinating operational functions within Heartland for Children.  This position will oversee Adoptions, Placements, SB 80 MDT Staffings, Recruitment, Licensing and Relicensing of homes for caregivers and the Kinship support program. Effective performance requires a high degree of independent judgment and ability to function under the established policies, procedures and practices with minimal supervision.  This position serves as backup and is in charge during the absence of the Chief Executive Officer.

  • Essential Functions:

    • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with HFC customers
    • Oversees daily operational functions of Adoptions, Placements, SB 80 Multiple Disciplinary Staffings (MDTs), Recruitment, Licensing and Relicensing of homes within Circuit 10 and the Kinship support program
    • Coordinates and facilitates weekly HFC management meetings and other meetings as requested by CEO
    • Assists with monitoring and analyzing budgets to ensure fiscal plan is met and makes recommendations to Chief Executive Officer for plan corrections as necessary
    • Responsible for streamlining processes and procedures to develop consistent practices within sphere of influence
    • Demonstrates a participatory management philosophy which embodies final accountability and decision making at the lowest appropriate level in an atmosphere of openness and integrity
    • Articulates and applies the team concept among staff, allowing employees to contribute to goals, agendas, discussion and decision making
    • Models and enforces effective conflict resolution by encouraging open and free flowing communication while exercising clear lines of responsibility. Responds decisively and expeditiously to staff issues requiring immediate attention
    • Responsible for developing a succession plan, which includes development, plans for staff and ensures a performance review program
    • Complies reports and assignments as needed
    • Presents reports as needed
    • Participates in monthly Foster Caregiver Advisory meetings with Circuit 10 caregivers
    • Participates in meetings and committees with peers in Florida to improve policies, practices and procedures
    • Provides coverage for Chief Executive Officer as requested
    • Performs special projects as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

  • Qualifications Required:

    Bachelors degree in Social Services, Health Care, Business or related field required.  Requires a minimum of three to five years of professional experience in the related field & supervisory experience.  Must have excellent organization and follow up skills, be process oriented, be able to multi-task, have good analytical ability, have good oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, contract negotiation skills and proven leadership skills.  Requires an ability to be flexible and change activities quickly.  Requires ability to successfully adjust priorities to meet operational needs. Must possess professional demeanor and judgment, and be able to make quick and accurate decisions independently.  Must also have strong programmatic and operational experience.

  • Qualifications Preferred:

    Masters degree preferred.  Extensive experience in child welfare and/or child abuse prevention preferred.
